Today, in this super-connected Internet age, the web is the first place people turn to for quick access to the information they need. But many stay confused about what a website is made of. So here are for me the most important parts of a website project:
THE PURPOSE
Every website has a different purpose and the best way to determine the purpose, is by focusing on what you’re hoping to achieve. For instance, are you trying to sell a product? Find a job? Get people to join a social cause? Each one of these different objectives will affect the very structure of your site.
THE DESIGN
Is the look and functionality of the website pages. A Web designer spends time developing the look and feel of websites to make them both functional , visually pleasing and effective.
THE CONTENT
Is the collection of related web pages , infornations including the textual, visual, or aural content that is encountered as part of the user experience on websites. It may include—among other things— text, images, sounds, videos, and animations.
THE DOMAIN NAME
It’s easy to think a domain name and a website are the same. While they are closely connected, they are very different things.
Domain Name System, or DNS, is the friendly naming system for giving addresses to web servers and web pages. Somewhat like international phone numbers, the domain name system gives every server a memorable and easy- to-spell address. Simultaneously, the domain names hide the really technical IP address which most viewers aren’t interested in.
THE HOSTING PLAN
Web hosting is a service that allow organizations and individuals to post a website or web page onto the Internet. A web host, or web hosting service provider, is a business that provides the technologies and services needed for the website or webpage to be viewed in the Internet. Websites are hosted, or stored on special computers called servers.
Note: Always consider paying for one that offers all the services you need. You’ll be less likely to run into problems when your business starts to take off. Choose a hosting service that allows for growth.
THE BROWSER
Yes without it i think no one can really admire completely a functional website.
A browser is a computer software application that allows people to browse websites on the Internet. Chrome and Firefox are examples of widely used browsers. Most browsers are free, and they often come pre-installed on computers.
